Chris DaSilva
Vocals & Guitar
Raised in a family of talented musicians, Chris took an interest in piano at an early age and received classical training until his early teens. Then with the help of his older cousin, he moved on to jazz and improv. "Cool jazz - the fast moving stuff. Kinda like fast blues songs", is how Chris describes it now. At 14, Chris joined his first band and played keyboards on a few cover songs with them. It was a short-lived experience, as the leaders of the band decided to break-up after failing to qualify for a Battle of the Bands.
Throughout high school, Chris managed to pick up several different instruments, until finally finding his real passion, the guitar. Completely self-taught, he used the gained knowledge from years of musical training to figure out how to play, and before long was writing and recording songs.
After school, Chris played in a number of different bands, playing everything from drums to guitar to singing. In 2000, he formed a band with two very close friends which became very popular in the central New Jersey music scene. After a year of solid performing, the members of the band parted ways, and Chris moved to New York City. It was only about a year later that he helped form According to Wendy, and then The Jynx, which has proven to be his most solid and successful band to date.
